Donna Karan is the Daughter of a fashion model. With this fashion background, she attended Parsons School of Design, before working with Anne Klein. She was made an associate designer with Anne Klein; later becoming head designer.

In 1984, Karan was offered her own firm by Takihyo Corporation of Japan. Her designs have always been comfortable and easy to wear. She designs stylish sports watches with a contemporary appeal.

The first DKNY collection established the company in the fashion world. The current lines include the Donna Karan collection, DKNY Watches, DKNY Tech, Square, Round, Mesh, Black and Sport.
